That Perfect Photo

beautiful girlI can take thirty pictures at one time, and only find a handful that I love. I’m sure you know that feeling. But do you ever get a photo developed or uploaded and look at it, and it simply takes your breath away? For me, it’s this photo. She’s not even smiling. It’s not even very well composed. But I love it. It’s simply…..Her. All nine years of her.

Edited to add this second photo. This was the photograph I was aiming for. The cute smile, having fun. I got the camera ready and just snapped the other photo right as she got into place on the acrobat swing but before she was ready. I just love that look in the other one.

It really is beautiful, but she almost looks sad… but definitely a great picture!!

Oddly, I think that is why I like it. She is always smiling, always having fun, always giggling and being silly, and it was just a serious look. A moment I captured that was not mauled by a giggling nine year old. LOL
The story behind the picture - She is actually balancing on one of those acrobat swings on a swingset. She is slightly scared of heights, so she was a little nervous to stay “still” long enough for a picture. She can hang on them, move on them, twist on them, flip on them and everything in between, but when it comes down to actually sitting on it, still - it terrifies her. I’ll add the other picture that followed. :o

Great pictures. I totally know about wanting to take a million pictures so you can get that ONE perfect one. As a scrapbooker, taking pictures is second nature. Your photos would make a beautiful scrapbook layout.

And they will make a scrapbook layout very soon!
I’ve been scrapbooking since 1993 and have way too many pictures. I used to take a lot before that, but now that I scrapbook, I am over-run by photos. And then I met digital! LOL

    Thanks for the sweet words!
