What makes you stop and read a blog when you happen across it?
Is it the title?
Or perhaps the blog entry title?
I took a much deserved break from writing and started blog surfing this morning. I was just looking for some stuff to read. Sometimes I found funny stuff, sometime I found serious stuff, and sometimes I just found interesting things to read.
When you find a blog you like, do you read older posts too?
I did that today. Also another question – do you update your blog links? I did that a couple of weeks ago because several blogs I used to love, are just sitting there, unused. I guess the authors found other fun stuff to do. Regardless, I am loving finding new blogs to read, and I have spent the morning being entertained.

Found you the same way I guess. LOL (noticed that you stopped by via MyBlogLog)
I am notoriously bad for updating my blogroll. I read about 140 blogs (seriously!? yeah, too many I know) via GoogleReader, add and delete as I see fit.
If I find something I really like, I roam through the archives most of the time.
I look for posts that might interest me, but it is usually the first one that I read that either keeps me or makes me move on… I rarely read the archives until I’ve read the persons blog continually for a few weeks, and then have more invested in them, lol.
Oh – I just got your comment – you should be able to see my whole blog now right? We fixed it so it works in IE7, IE 6, and Firefox
Can you email me your email address?

Thanks!
Some days I just simply surf to find good reads myself.
I used a feed reader to keep up with the 10 or 11 blogs I read on a daily basis (including this one). It’s convenient and easy to see who has new content.
I find most new blogs by either surfing MyBlogLog or answering comments people have left on my own blog. The second one is my favorite because I like to always try to reciprocate a comment for a comment. I’ll be honest and say that sometimes I end up at a blog that just make me go “Ummm, how to you say something nice here?” but that is very rare.
What catches my attention on a blog is usually the layout or header and I think that’s because of my Adult ADD. You know “shiny object syndrome” gets me everytime. So if someone has something interesting to look at then I will usually read a few posts.
I also try to keep my links updated because dead links are irritating.
The first thing I look for is a title that sounds interesting to me. I click on the link and in this case, I found your link on the We Do Follow list, and found a post title that appealed to me. I like following simialr interests, people I can relate to, i.e, other moms, other crafters, etc. I’m new to blogging, but I’m enjoying it so far!
hi – just stumbled upon your blog, and i really like it!
to answer your question, the first thing i notice is the overall design – if it catches my eye, i’ll stay. and if i like what i read in the first posts, i definitely read older posts. glad i found ya!
