Quad Fold Card
When I saw the quad fold card, I knew I had to try it, and I had so much fun the other day working on it. I had a birthday coming so it was the perfect opportunity to try something new. So here is the result of one of the cards I made that day. Considering it is my first one ever, and there were no dimensions for the layered paper, etc. I think I did pretty good. LOL
This is the outside of the card:

This is the card when it’s opened:

Bra & Panty Card
This is a repost from last summer. Why? Because I just got done making a few templates to make some more of these, and it reminded me of this post, so I went to look for it and decided to repost it.
UPDATE: My friend saw these (the bra and panty or bikini cards) and decided she wanted me to make her some for a pool party this summer. I’ve already started (using a different template), and they are way easy to make dozens of, once you get the hang of it.
Also thought I’d give you the link where you can download your own pattern or template to make a bra and panty card – this was not the one I originally used, but I loved this one so much that I have switched to using it. Stamp Owl is brilliant! Click Here. Her card is SO cute!
These bra and panty cards were just too cute not to try myself. I tried to make them look more like bikini’s so my kids would not think I was losing my mind, plus I could think of nothing to do with a card of a bra and pair of panties. My kids giggled, but they thought they were awesome. LOL I had to download them each a template to make their own bra and panty / bikini card.

The bow on this card looks lopsided but it isn’t at all on the actual card. I have no idea why it looks like this on this picture.

Life Delights Flap Card
This has got to be one of my very favorite paper packs that we carry. Mainly due to the awesomeness of the color combination (blush, Chocolate, Lilac Mist and Sweet Leaf), total visual appeal for me.
Whenever I finally get the chance to do the paint in my scrap room, I’m tossing up the idea of using Life Delights or Let’s Get Together. Yummy palettes. Not sure which one I’ll choose because I truly love them both the best.
Anyway, this is my latest little cutie of a card – a flap card. I made a bunch of them but this was my favorite. I made them today for kicks, because well – I was bored and its Saturday and well, I like having cards on hand. So what do you think? Does it need anything else?
Little Frog Card
This is another card I made for Vanessa for her birthday. One might think it was for the kids to give her, one might even think I just wanted another card – but nope. One of my best gal pal’s Jody wanted me to make it for her to give to V for her birthday. She was running late (since I threw the whole dang thing together in less than a few hours!) so I opted to help her out.
I actually think it turned out super cute. The frog was some wooden thing we had lying around here from Michaels and I don’t even know why we bought it to begin with. The only CTMH thing used to make this card was the two pieces of cardstock. LOL Geez, I’m bad.
Special Birthday Card
Happy Birthday, Vanessa! This is the card I made for my daughter’s birthday today. I have been stressing about what type of card to make her – she’s turning 14 and gone are the days where “cutesy” fit. I was up early this morning so I was spending some time blog hopping. I checked out Jeanette’s blog and re-discovered a card she had created for her daughter – how did I not realize it was perfect for V’s birthday the first time? Obviously I changed mine up quite a bit, but I really do like how it turned out.
CTMH Birthday Card Supplies:
Baby Pink Cardstock
Bamboo Cardstock
Silhouette Dots My Reflections Paper
Big Pinks
Baby Pink Ink Pad
Black Ink Pad
Key Lime Organdy Ribbon
D1254 Soul Mates My Acrylix Stamp Set
D1212 Playful Flourishes My Acrylix Stamp Set
D1283 Say It In Style My Acrylix Stamp Set
The button is contraband but only because I realized I had used up all my smaller buttons from CTMH. I would have used a baby pink or a blush button from CTMH.
Note to Vanessa: Happy Birthday Sweetheart! Hope your day is as special as you are and that you enjoy all your special gifts chosen just for you. It seems like only yesterday I was looking at a little blonde with curls bouncing onto the bus for Kindergarten and actively playing with Ryan. You have changed so much and are becoming such a beautiful young lady. I am so proud of you. Here’s to many more amazing birthdays!
Cup of Sorrow…
Today is going to be a hard day. My bff (since high school) called me the other day and told me that her father passed away the night before. While it was pretty much expected, for whatever reason it rendered me speechless. I can actually remember making the same call to her our senior year of high school – again expected. And she was there for me.
Dialysis quit working for him about two weeks ago, and it was a matter of time. We’ve known how sick he was for awhile, but I guess I expected her to have more time with him.
So today is the memorial and funeral, and I am looking forward to being her rock today. However, I am full of fear and worrying about how I will do. I have avoided as many funerals as I could since my father died. Of course there were the ones I was expected to attend, and I did – though I tried to detach myself for the day. It never actually worked. I know today will be no different.
She feels at peace with her father’s death, knowing he is without pain and suffering and once again reunited and safe in the arms of our Lord. That gives me comfort for her.
I made her a card, but tried desperately to avoid making it a sympathy type card. She did the same for me during that hard time over a decade and a half ago, and I wanted to do the same for her.
Here it is in all it’s glory. Sorry it isn’t done in my “normal” pretty style of photography – but I wanted to snap a photo before we left. Now, for the hour drive to his hometown. See y’all later.

Oh, and I came to a realization while making this. I need more “word” and “phrase” stamps.
How To Make a Hidden Message Card
Hidden Message Card
You will need:
5.5 x 4 card Base
5.5 x 4 sheet of patterned paper
5 x 3.5 sheet of cardstock
4.75 x 3.25 sheet of cardstock
1 x 10″ sheet of cardstock
Embellishments (brad, ribbons,)
Step 1: Begin by taking your card base. I usually make my own but you can purchase pre-made card bases too, at almost any craft supply store. Adhere your 5.5 x 4 sheet of patterned paper to the card base.
Step 2: Next you need your 5 x 3.5. Decorate this however you’d like, for instance brayering, stamping, etc. Then adhere it to the patterned paper you just stuck on the card.
Step 3: Take your 1 x 10″ piece of cardstock and fold it in half. Take the 4.75 x 3.25 piece of cardstock and cut a slit in it that is approximately 1″.
Step 4: Thread the slider piece into the slot and push it all the way in so you can see how much will be visible. Remove slider strip and stamp message across the piece and then replace it.
Step 5: Adhere the 4.75 x 3.25 piece to the layered card at this point. Decorate as desired. Super easy!
Here is a diagram of what it will look like:

Life Delights Flap Card

Friendship Card
I am going to my friend and neighbor’s house tonight for an Upper Case Living party. She sells the stuff and I am totally fascinated. Being that she’s one of my best gal pal’s, she is giving me some smaller samples to bring home and use on my layouts. I’m sure they will be fun!
Since I already knew she was doing this, and because she is totally the best kind of friend you could EVER ask for, I wanted to make her a card. (she is fascinated by what I make, even though if she would even TRY she could do it too!) Anyway, so I was messing around with some papers and a very old stamp set (that I have never used before today – why? why do I do that?) and this is what I came up with. (but don’t stop looking after this card because this isn’t what it looked like when I gave it to her.)
This was what I had done and was going to give her:

This is the inside: (I wrote my own message)

However, it sat on my table all day. Every time I looked at it, glanced at it, walked by it or even thought about it, I realized it was missing something. I just couldn’t figure out what. Then it hit me. It definitely needed a little walnut ink.

There. Doesn’t that look a lot better?
ETA: The party is over, the evening was fun and a total success for her and she LOVED her card.
Card Making Tip #3 – Save ALL Scraps
A couple of weeks ago I was getting annoyed at all the tiny scraps that were piling up. What usually happens is that I have a scrapbooking layout I am working on with all the pieces and these are the leftovers. The remnants of a finished layout. Since everything already coordinates, what I do now – is gather up all the leftover supplies. Even the tiny scraps. I place them all in a zip top bag and whenever I am in the mood to create a card (or even a scrapbook page from time to time) I have everything I need in one place and it already coordinates.
I finally wound up finishing a layout I have been working on, and gathered up all the leftover supplies. I had a piece of cardstock large enough to fold in half for a card, a 3d sticker, some leftover “pocket charms” and eyelets and a few misc. scraps of coordinating patterned paper. The perfect makings for a beautiful, simple card. I placed everything in a zip top bag and when the mood strikes, I’m ready. I can then use stamps, inks and whatever to create the perfect card.
Hope this tip helps someone
