I have allowed my CTMH business to take a back seat lately, and it was unintentional. With everything that has been going on, I have even let my scrapbooking take a back seat, but I am working on recovering. I am writer so I am familiar with writer’s block, and I guess as a scrapbooker, I can now say that I am familiar with ‘scrapbookers block’. At any rate, I am working to change that.
I am always on the hunt, scouring my fellow CTMH consultant’s blogs, our CTMH message board, Two Peas and Splitcoaststampers, looking for ideas on how to keep myself more organized, especially in my Close to My Heart business – this is important to me.
Here are some really awesome ideas I have seen for keeping your Close to My Heart scrapbooking supplies neat, your CTMH business more organized, and just generally making life in the crafting department a little easier.
So CTMH is hosting a video contest, and so far the consultant’s have been working so hard on them. I love them, most of them make me giggle, just because of the parody aspect and they really are hilarious. All joking aside, Close to My Heart clear acrylix stamps really are top notch, and these consultants put together a video to share why they are special and what makes them so amazing and awesome – so here are the video entries for the contest so far:
I couldn’t help but giggle when I heard the rumor. Creative Memories is not a bad company, its just a little on the boring side when you are an obsessive scrapbooker, such as I. So I have always kind of just ignored the products. Plus I’ve never had very good experiences with the consultants I have worked with in the past, so I just avoid them like the plague. Obviously, now I am a CTMH consultant and so years have gone by since I’ve paid much attention.
Well, this thanksgiving the CM workers put together a video about what they are thankful for. The best part? The dude that shows up about the 9 minutes 42 second marker – has a CLOSE TO MY HEART catalog on his desk (his arm is resting on it) – at CM! haha So even they love our products!
There is some concern that the video will disappear, so I used a program and now have a copy of it, but here it is in all its glory on youtube for as long as it remains. haha! (oh, and unless you are REALLY bored, you can just wait until the whole thing loads and then fast forward… the video is not THAT exciting.)
Look what I got today! I wanted one almost from the moment I set eyes on the cute bag. I love the colors and how cute it is. It’s not overwhelming huge, but it’s also not a small bag. I could very easily carry my full size laptop on it, but its not bulky, so its easy to carry. I just love it.
I got a bunch of other fun goodies from the Spring 2010 Close to My Heart catalog too, new stamp sets and some new papers, and now I am feeling majorly creative and can’t wait to play.
Are you ordering anything from the new catalog? If so, what?

I am continuously on the hunt for inspiration and ideas, but there is one blog I visit REGULARLY that there is absolutely no shortage of inspiration from. It’s the Wizard’s Hangout. Yes, Vicki Wizniuk is a fellow CTMH sisters, however what’s interesting is that I have been visiting her blog and viewing her artwork since BEFORE I became a CTMH consultant. Vicki is so incredibly talented.
Some of her more recent work is featured below, but if you want to really get to know her, please visit her blog: Wizard’s Hangout. You will NOT be sorry!
(Forgive me Vicki for “borrowing” a few of your pictures to get others to go check you out. You continue to inspire me, and help me find my creative muse. Much more so than just about any other location I look at. Keep creating, I’ll keep following
This was posted last year, and when I revamped the blogs, all the pictures disappeared and I happened to JUST notice it. LOL SO I’m reposting with the pictures.
Onto the blog entry….
So I’m behind the times, yes I know.
Yesterday I finally pulled out my Life Delights Memory Showcase kit because I was tired of dusting it off. So why did I wait so long? Because I just could not understand why I would want to make an album of that design. (the accordion stand up thing). Let me just say now, I am going to be making loads of them. What a perfect gift idea. Who knew? (yes I realize many of you have known for a very long time, I just happen to be behind the times a bit and couldn’t get it).
The things I liked about it: When I opened the kit (yes I just broke the seal yesterday morning!), I was thrilled with the ease of the layouts, the sizes of the photographs required and the idea behind a “family showcase”.
I didn’t want to wait to get any different photographs enlarged to cut down to a 5×5 which was requested so I cut them to 4×4 and wrote and/or stamped on the bottom of the mat.
I changed it up a little but I mostly used their diagrams with the exception of a few My Stickease changes, a couple of rotated pages and different sized photographs (plus two added embellishments and two added stamps)
Close to My Heart has reduced the cost of our amazing kit! Now it is just $99 and contains a whopping $300 worth of products!
In addition, you offered something brand new – an add on pack. You have two to choose from.
Add on Pack #1 is designed to support those focused on scrapbooking and contains over $180 in valuable products, but is available as an add-on to your new kit for $60.
