Kittens and Christmas Trees (With Photos)

I forgot how much work kittens are. And she has developed a love for the Christmas tree (imagine!) and the fact that the boughs are bouncy and they “play back” with her. So I’m sitting here working and all of a sudden I see the tree swaying and I get up to investigate. I hear soft sounds coming (the kitten doesn’t meow, she whispers or squeaks) from the tree and this is what I saw:

And that ornament that is visible in the picture, was painted by my 10 year old daughter. I wish it was a clearer picture. I’ll try to remember to take another one so you can actually see it. It’s so good.

She Looks Stuffed!

Everyday I fall in love with our new little girl even more. Maggie has a totally different personality than Max, yet wants to do everything Max does. He took right to her and they play so well together.

Doesn’t she look like a little stuffed animal? I just love her to pieces!!

Farewell Sweet Pixie

Pixie

9/25/95 – 9/14/08

The sad news of Pixie crossing the Rainbow Bridge actually caught me off guard. Our entire family is praying for Daisy and her whole family. Every time you eat a nanner think of Pixie. Go on over to Daisy’s blog and pass along your condolences and your love.
Rest in peace, Pixie
P.S. Tell Bandit we miss him terribly.

She Has a Name – It’s Maggie

We named our new baby girl. Her name is Maggie.  It was actually a toss-up between Maggie and Lily which I also really loved. But Maggie won the majority vote. Max is a pretty proud “big brother”.

Another New Addition

I swear we should live on a farm. We are constantly adding new animals to this house. One cat, one dog, one turtle, one bearded dragon and now….

IT’S A GIRL!

She’s a 14 week old Shih-tzu pup. Sweet as can be and one of those impulse buys. Not really, because we had been talking about it, but when we saw her – we had to have her.

She doesn’t have a name….yet. We have a few ideas. I’ll let you know when we decide.

We Have a New Friend

Look what the kids have now!

As if Max, our dog and Maple, our cat weren’t enough in the pet department, apparently we had to go and buy another pet. She’s an aquatic turtle – a Yellow Bellied Slider. Her name is Morgandy, which is Celtic for “little one from the edge of the sea”.

Update: The kids have been busy upgrading her tank with all sorts of neat things they sell at the pet store.

Here is what her tank looks like now:

She’s one happy turtle!

Max Turns One

Today our adorable and very sweet and loveable Shih-tzu pup turns on years old. It seems like forever since we got him, but we actually got him at 8 weeks old. So it’s been less than a year.

Here are some pics we took to celebrate! Happy Birthday Maxie boy! We love you!

A Dog’s Top Ten Pet Peeves

Taking me for a walk, then

Exactly whose walk is this anyway?

’4′
Any trick that involves balancing
food on my nose. Stop it!

Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons.
Now you know why we chew your stuff
up when you’re not home.

’6′
The sleight of hand, fake fetch throw.
You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo what
a proud moment for the top of the food chain.

————————————————–
’7′
Taking me to the vet for “the big snip”,
then acting surprised when I freak

————————————————–
’8′
Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests.
Sorry, but I haven’t quite mastered that handshake thing yet.

Haven’t you noticed the fur?

————————————————–
’10′
How you act disgusted when I lick myself.
Look, we both know the truth. You’re just jealous.

Now lay off me on some of these things.
We both know who’s boss here!
You don’t see me picking up your poop do you?

The Seatbelt Video

Well, I was disappointed in my daughter who does horseback riding. She made me look stupid. LOL
Actually, I’m REALLY proud of her. After the seatbelt post in regards to her riding lesson, she proved me wrong this last lesson by actually maintaining a bit more balance and control on how high her body lifted. (yay she’s getting stronger!)

Unfortunately the camera died right after this video was shot so I couldn’t get more, but we have lessons tonight so I will take more footage and get it uploaded. Sorry about the poor quality (it’s so hard to get good shots in there) and for the short clip (I’ll see if I can get more tonight).

Enjoy (and don’t laugh too hard at J (her trainer) and her funny “say Whoooooaaaaa trot!” – it makes me giggle every time I watch this!
